ROSH CHODESH CHESHVAN:
GO INSPIRES STUDENTS TO “LAUGH OFF” THE RAIN

It’s always so nice to see eyes light up or hear someone laugh out loud.  The halls at Shulamith are always filled with happy voices, as students and faculty carry on with school.  Our new G.O stepped it up a notch as they launched their yearly theme, “Laugh it Off with G.O. 2018” in honor of Rosh Chodesh Cheshvan.  They went all out!  They decorated the halls with silly jokes and stormed the Student Center after davening decked in colorful rain coats and gear.  If their dramatic entrance wasn’t enough, the new G.O, Hana Adler, Tzivie Scharff, Leah Katz, and Rivky Widroff, stepped into wading pools and volleyed jokes in a theatrical comedy skit.  Students gasped in shock when Tzivi and Rivky dumped buckets of water on Hana and Leah’s heads…. Watch the scene below see what happened!

TEAM STEM CHALLENGE: STUDENTS BUILD UMBRELLAS
The G.O then gave the school a team challenge of their own… to build an umbrella that would “weather the storms” that could stand and would fit their entire team.  True to the STEM, Maker culture of our school, they gave each team unconventional materials and challenge parameters required form, function and fun!
As each team presented their creations to a panel of judges, they shared messages such as “standing up tall to challenges,” and “all the pieces work together to make us stronger…” It was so much fun!
